Cynspin Creations
Hand spun / Hand Knit
Cynspin Creations grew out of a hobby. I started spinning fiber into yarn in the early 1990’s. Starting with wool, I now spin many different fibers. I started with wool from various breeds of sheep and have spun a great variety of other fibers, mostly blended, including silk, cotton, hemp, Tencel, alpaca, llama, mohair, bamboo and nylon. When I had too much yarn to keep hanging around my home, I started knitting hats. When I ran out of storage space for the hats I started to sell them. Now I make various items to sell – scarves, shawls, blankets, ear warmers, etc. I am currently knitting wheel chair lap robes because people confined to a chair should be able to enjoy a very personal accessory made with love. All my items are one of a kind. I like colors and textures and create based on the fiber I’m using, the colors I have available and, of course, my mood. I use patterns as a guideline. I create because it is a joy.
COMFY LILIES
Hi my name is Jennifer Mateo. I am a mother of 2 boys (GianCarlos and Liam) and a stepmom to 2 others (Alina and Noah). To say the least, my home is always busy. I am a nurse and have been working in healthcare since I was 18 years old. Initially starting off at AtlantiCare as an ER/Trauma Technician. I went back to school for nursing and have been a nurse for about 10 years. Yes, I have seen a lot over the years. Currently working full time as a nurse case manager, and I love it. Recently, I became a vendor at the Emporium on Central in Hammonton. Didn’t think I would get here or have a space at a store, but here I am. I started Comfy Lilies last year in 2024. At first it was something that I began doing to help with anxiety, something that would bring me delight and joy. I started crocheting purses and handknitting blankets because it was just a hobby that brought me peace. My youngest son Liam has non verbal autism. My oldest son is 100% deaf and wears bilateral cochlear implants, and I almost lost him as a baby. I was a single mother and dealing with all this on my own is overwhelming. It still is overwhelming.
It is a day by day challenge and I don’t think us autism parents get the help and support we need. The routines, the schools, the therapy, the meltdowns, etc. I finally met the love of my life back in 2020.I finally had someone who supported me and my kids every need. He brought me some time for myself, which I had little of. Time for myself, time to sleep. I began crocheting and it became what it is today, Comfy Lilies. Handmade crochet items to use daily. Comfy blankets and luxurious handmade purses and handbags. I have started making handmade cardigans and sweaters for friends and family, and well it keeps going. Every item that I sell is made with love, and a lot of hard work. Blankets took awhile to learn to make sure it was done right without the big holes in it. I wanted to make sure my end product is cozy, warm, and absolutely comfy. Come check it out.
